Resurrection
Hey guys,
A while ago a youth pastor asked me "what does the resurrection mean to you"? I have had years to think about this question and I have found my answer.
What does it mean to me? Well Jesus died and when he died he took a beating and he took our burdens, after he was crucified he was laid in a tomb that was sealed with a boulder and guarded by soldiers.
Before I go into this I would like to talk about what had happened when he was crucified. When he died the ground shook and a tapestry was torn from the top-down, this tapestry was most likely a couple inches thick and was put in a tabernacle, only the holy of the holies could go behind the tapestry and if anybody else went in who was not pure they were struck down by God. The people who went into this part of the tabernacle often had something tied around their ankle so that in the case that they were struck down he could be pulled out with a sort of pole, the reason this was done was so that no one would get struck down again because of entering to retrieve the corpse. Anyways when this tapestry was torn it signified that anyone, not just the holy of holies could be within the presence of God.
Back to the tomb, when the boulder was rolled away Jesus got up and walked away he was found by Mary Magdalene in a garden and then he went to his disciples and ascended into heaven.
Jesus reversed death itself.
That shows us just how powerful our God is if he can reverse death itself, he can do anything. He can bless us with life, he can take it away, he can create tall mountains, demolish them and bring them up again .
Mark 11: 20 says
The Withered Fig Tree
20 In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. 21 Peter remembered and said to Jesus, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!"
22" Have[f] faith in God," Jesus answered. 23"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Mathew 17:14-22 tells about a boy who is consumed by a demon , the disciples try to heal him but they do not succeed , Jesus comes over and heals the boy, his disciples say to him "why couldn't we drive it out" He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
The faith of a mustard seed.
A mustard seed is only a little larger than this period . Yet if you have even that much faith you will do great things.
I recently went on a snowboarding daytrip and this was my first time on an actual mountain, you learn pretty fast when you fall a lot, anyways on the ski lift I seen this cliff no larger than about 9 feet, I said to the person sitting next to me " I wanna' do that cliff " he responded " you can do it". So I approach this cliff and stop at the very edge and turn away and ride down the rest of the mountain the same thing happened a couple more times but I finally had enough faith in myself to jump and I did, it was a very sketchy landing but I landed it. Do you see what happened when I put a little bit of faith in myself? Imagine what we could do if we put a little bit of faith in God.
This is a summary of what I get out of the resurrection: God is so powerful he can reverse death itself, and if we have enough faith in him he will use his power to do great things with us.
That's what I get out of the resurrection.
What do you get out of it?
are you ready to jump?

What time is it?
Hey guys,
Funny story, so last night my sister and I were playing videogames pretty late at night, my sister gets up to find out what time it is and says "wheres your alarm clock"? I pointed in the direction of the alarm clock and she looked at it and said "why isn't it on"? I responded "it woke me up one morning so I unplugged it" my sister looks at me and asks "why"? and I responded "so it doesnt wake me up again".
I thought it was kind of funny because it kind of defeats the point of having an alarm clock.
Peace out guys.
